This precious open adoption story soooooo parallels ours. I have bawled my eyes out remembering the day God gave us Maddie Kate. I truly love our birth mom Shelby as much as I love Maddie Kate!!!!!

A Distorted View of Beauty
Here's a link to the video I showed at school on Thursday.
Even though I am 40-something years old, it's such a good reminder of the fact that true beauty has nothing to do with what we see in magazines. That's a distorted view that just isn't real. I can't believe how easily I forget that truth.

My Prayer for "My Girls."
God, I am going to be obedient. I don't like to write. I am not the writer in the family. But I know you have things you want to say through me. I have surrendered my life to you and as of tonight I have an urgency burning in me that I need to do this.
Every time I pray and ask you what I should "post" first I feel like you want me to pray. To pray primarily for my Campbell Girls. Aren't they just precious Lord? Each one so beautiful so unique. Some of them with lives growing inside of them. Some thinking about what the next day holds for their children that are already here. Everyone goes back to school tomorrow. There are truths that I would want to pray over them as they head back. They are truths from your Word, the Bible that I wish I could print out on paper and wall paper all of their rooms in. They are truths for girls that walk the halls of Campbell High School and truths for all of "My Girls."
Lord, be with all of them as they head back to school and to a new year. 2012. I praise you God that each Girl is known by you. Psalms 139. "O Lord, you have searched me and know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain." Thank you that you care for all of us Girls this way God.
Lord, I am so grateful that you have a BIG PICTURE in mind for all of us. So incredibly glad that there is something bigger than me. A plan for my life. "For I know the plans I have for you,'" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and I will bring you back from captivity."" Thank you God for setting me, (jen) free. Bless the Girls. You have blessed the Girls. Now may we all BE a blessing to you. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
